Manuscripts, Journals, Diaries, Speeches, Interviews, Letters, Memos, and other papers in which individuals describe events in which they were participants or observers.

This is an example of a letter.  It doesn't have to be old or handwritten to be a primary sources.  Today, letters are typewritten, on computers, and are still primary sources.
