Use the part for Congressional Indexes 1789-1969.
An index to Congressional publications such as hearings and reports, as well as some Presidential messages. The library will own most of the items listed in either paper or microform editions:

An index to articles from The New York Times and The Times of London. Database will indicate the date, page, and column of the article. Newspapers can be found on Microfilm.

Full-text, including graphics, of Harpers Weekly Magazine from 1857-1865. Harpers was one of the most popular and important magazines of the day. You can search by keywords (use very few words). Printing requires you to download special software.
