Meeting public expectations for ease of use and Web 2.0 features in these interfaces is one of the reasons libraries are making this change. Community plays a vital role in supporting OSS, and as more libraries use OSS the community of user-librarians is strengthened. Involving the public more actively and directly in this community would further strengthen it, and would support the values of OSS and of libraries.
