The synthesis of two thioether systems, Methyl 2-(tert-butylthio)-2-methylpropanoate and endo-6-(Methylthio)bicyclo[2.2.1] heptan-2-one, has been investigated. These systems will be used to help develop simple models that elucidate some of the mechanisms by which sulfur oxidation in biological systems can occur.Type
