We study an asymptotic MHD model system. In particular, we show its proximity to MHD system by studying the fundamental properties of MHD system in our model system. We prove the existence and boundness of the structures of intermediate shock waves in the planar model system and in the non-planar model system, respectively. We also extend the Liu's theorem on the nonlinear instability of the travelling wave solutions of the Derivative Schroedinger equation to our more general model.Type
