I determined desert mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus crooki) watering frequency from 523 visitations by 27 radio-collared deer on two study areas in Arizona. Does water once a night during the most stressful summer period. I could not predict when males would water. When denied access to water, does searched areas outside of known home range perimeters for alternate sources. Does can be censused in summer based on the frequency deer visit waterholes.Type
