Yield of 12 Upland Cotton Varieties Planted at 3 Dates at Maricopa in 1985
Abstract
The earliest planting date (28 March) gave the highest average lint yield. The average decrease in lint yield with delayed planting after 28 March was 6 to 7 pounds of lint/acre/day. Varieties did not differ greatly in lint yield. The early (short season) varieties Centennial and Deltapine 30 were consistently lowest in lint yield. Deltapine 775, Deltapine 90Y, and Stoneville 112 were among the highest producers at all three planting dates.Series/Report no.
