dc.description.abstract | To fill the gap in research on vehicle-vehicle (V-V) traffic accidents on the University of Arizona (UA) campus, this study takes advantage of Geographic Information Systems technology (GIS) to conduct a geospatial-temporal analysis of V-V traffic accidents that occurred on the UA campus between 2008 and 2012. The data used was documented by the University of Arizona Police Department. The data analysis was broken down into two main categories: Temporal Trend Analysis and Geospatial-Temporal Analysis. This study identifies the specific geographic locations for high-frequency accidents and provides insight on their geospatial patterns and temporal trends. This study is intended to provide support for UA Parking and Transportation Services to evaluate further needs of and propose future changes to the UA campus transportation system. | |
