AbstractThe Associated Students of the University of Arizona has implemented its SafeRide program for over 30 years as a free transportation service for students and university affiliates. Unfortunately, the program has not reached its full potential due to its outdated and inefficient system that has not been changed or updated in years. With the growing popularity of transportation apps such as Uber or Lyft, I decided to explore the possibility of providing the SafeRide program with a mobile application that can facilitate ride requests. By studying similar systems, I was able to create a prototype that could one day be used as a model for a SafeRide app.
