My goal with this project was to create a body of work themed around the environment, and the ways in which we interact with and make sense of our natural world. During the fall semester of 2014, I read several ecopoetry anthologies and studied the unique ways in which writers talk about the environment and environmental issues. Over the course of the spring 2015 semester, I continued reading other environmental and poetic works, and composed my own environmental poetry. With the help of Alison Deming, my thesis advisor, I revised and arranged these pieces into a cohesive portfolio, including an introduction which explains my vision for the work, the writers which inspired me, and the importance of the intersection of science and poetry.Type
