Emerging airborne telemetry networks present several challenges such that traditional MANET protocols do not perform well. On the other hand, application traffic characteristics are expected to be identical in this domain. Transactional application traffic performance has been studied for traditional MANETs, however this type of traffic has not been studied for domain-specific MANET scenarios. We present the simulation model for transactional traffic used in highly-mobile environments. Using the ns-3 simulator, we examine the performance of a domain-specific routing protocol, AeroRP, to route transactional traffic over the aeronautical environment and present performance comparison with two reactive (AODV and DSR) and two proactive (DSDV and OLSR) MANET routing protocols.Sponsors
