AbstractThis paper discusses the methodology, requirements, tests, and implementation plan for the live demonstration of the Enhanced Flight Termination System (EFTS) using a missile program at two locations in Florida: Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) and Tyndall AFB. The demonstration included the integration of EFTS Flight Termination Receivers (FTRs) onto the missile and the integration of EFTS-program-developed transmitter assets with the mission control system at Eglin and Tyndall AFBs. The initial test stages included ground testing and captive-carry flights, followed by a launch in which EFTS was designated as the primary flight termination system for the launch.

FLIGHT LINE TEST SET, IRIG TONE GENERATOR AND FLIGHT TERMINATION TRANSMITTER ON A PC CARDCirineo, Tony; NAWCWPNS (International Foundation for Telemetering, 1997-10)This paper describes the development of a PC based IRIG tone generator and flight termination transmitter. The tone generator and flight termination transmitter card are part of a flight line test set. The test set has several PC based cards which include an S-Band telemetry receiver, a bit synchronizer, a decommutator, an encryption support card and the flight termination transmitter card. The test set can perform a complete end to end test of a weapon’s flight termination system prior to loading on an aircraft.
FLIGHT TESTING IS OUR PROFESSION – AN OVERVIEW OF TEST FLIGHT AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRESchuite, Gerard; South African Air Force (International Foundation for Telemetering, 1999-10)The aim of this presentation is to give an overview of TFDC’s capabilities as a flight test centre and the approach with respect to the management of flight testing.
CURRENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS IN FLIGHT TEST CONFIGURATION TECHNIQUESWhittington, Austin; Ibaroudene, Hakima; Abbott, Ben; Yao, Di; Hite, Joseph; Bapty, Theodore; Moskal, Jakub; Neumann, Michael; Southwest Research Institute; Vanderbilt University; et al. (International Foundation for Telemetering, 2018-11)As technologies like network-based telemetry and standardized configuration languages begin to see wider adoption within the flight test community, new techniques exploring the new possibilities they provide are also developed. This paper reviews a subset of these techniques, including successful use in commercial flight test, focusing on the concepts of constraints and their application in the field, specifically their use in helping users to create correct-by-construction configurations. We then explore ongoing efforts with the Air Force and DARPA to extend these techniques into constraint satisfaction and real-time adaptation, providing the ability to create and adapt configurations to match (possibly changing) test requirements.
