Vibration, shock, and acoustic data constitute one of the principal requirements for wideband telemetry. In order to permit a quantitative comparison of DSB/FM with the experimental results on constant bandwidth FM/FM for telemetry wideband noise-like data, a laboratory investigation has been conducted at WSMR. This paper reports experimental data on RF spectrum occupancy, intermodulation, performance against thermal noise, and some preliminary data on the effects of tape recording.Sponsors
