dc.description.abstract | The currently developed theory of optimal demodulation and synchronization systems for digital data has been applied to the design of a class of programmable satellite receivers. The primary purpose is to provide flexibility in application through digital control of the important functions of the receiver. This permits the acquisition and demodulation of medium to very low data rates in widely varying communications environments and over a broad range of modulation schemes. The receiver peripherals are controlled by a digital processor which can accept external commands to reconfigure to any of a preprogrammed set of algorithms. | |
