The design of a Nyquist filter for generating a band-limited pulse for data transmission with the zero intersymbol interference is formulated as a linear programming (LP) problem and the Steiglitzs program [18] is modified and then used to design this type of pulse shaping filters. The advantage of the present approach, as compared to other methods, with regard to design speed and filter optimality, are described, and illustrated by means of examples.Sponsors
