dc.description.abstract | A simple yet effective error correction scheme for high bit rate digital recording (HBR) using an IRIG tape format is presented. The system is independent of input data rate and requires no analog dropout detection. Typically, 3 orders of magnitude of correction are achieved. The error correction system requires no adjustments. Theoretical results are presented along with emperical data. | |
