Power spectra of M-ary, or multi-level, PCM/FM are calculated for a limited selection of baseband pulse shapes and deviation ratios. Parameter values, such as number levels, symbol rates, and deviation ratios, are determined for those cases in which the corresponding spectra fit into 1, 3, and 10 MHz bandwidth channels. The IRIG specifications are used to produce the spectrum occupancy values from the normailized power spectra densities.Sponsors
