| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this project is to analyze the economic effects over time that Chile has encountered due to natural disasters. I will provide information about Chile as country, breaking down several crucial regions to highlight the key threats to each. Several natural disasters used in my research will be defined and a brief account of their occurrences throughout the country's history will be given. My paper will demonstrate how Chilean society has shaped their way of life around these economic consequences, with a unique look at the short-term effects on small businesses. The primary focus will be on how the economic impact of an exogenous variable, such as a natural disaster, varies based on certain endogenous variables such as location and prosperity. | |
