Description

The principal research objective of this program is the development of successful economic exploration techniques for the location, evaluation and development of low- to moderate-temperature geothermal resources for use by the general public and private industry. The development of such a program will require the close coordination of research in the three geoscience disciplines: geology, geophysics and geochemistry. Current plans call for the complete development of three demonstration projects utilizing low- to moderate-temperature geothermal energy. The first two projects are somewhat experimental in that they must develop a successful, economic exploration and development program. The third demonstration project then must be brought on stream utilizing these cost-effective techniques. p.120
