    Description
The Phoenix Mountains form a conspicuous and picturesque feature on the north side of the Salt River Valley in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley area of Southern Maricopa County, Arizona. From Camelback Mountain near Scottsdale, the mountains extend about 15 miles northwestward to Moon Hill. The area includes the northern part of Phoenix and almost the entire town of Paradise Valley - with a combined population of several hundreds of thousands.
