    Description
Paleozoic strata of Pennsylvanian and/or Permian age contain laterally persistent zones that are favorable hosts for the occurrence of uranium, both in outcrop and in the subsurface. A survey of over 80 miles of Paleozoic outcrop along the escarpment at the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau, and of 30 subsurface control points over about 10,000 square miles of plateau surface, reveals that anomalous uranium in outcrop and anomalous radioactivity in the subsurface is widespread.
