Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths among women. While the incidence for ovarian cancer has decreased over the years, much is still to be learned about the disease and how to prevent it. Importantly, survival after an ovarian cancer diagnosis remains poor. The Lifestyle Intervention for Ovarian Cancer Enhanced Survival - commonly referred to as LIvES - is a randomized, controlled trial that seeks to identify modifiable lifestyle factors that improve survival for ovarian cancer patients. This paper looks to expand upon treatmentassociated topics that were introduced in newsletters for participants of the LIvES study. Specifically, this review addresses antioxidant supplementation, cryotherapy for alopecia, and the rising field of immunotherapy. While much research still needs to be conducted in each of these areas, current research provides an evidence-base from which ovarian cancer survivors can make informed decisions about these treatment approaches.Type
