dc.descriptionSince Bulletin 187 was printed a dozen years ago, several new studies on the geologic framework and mineral resources of Cochise County have been released. Because the bulletin was reprinted without modification, it is appropriate to call to your attention some of these new publications. - The New Mexico Geological Society, in cooperation with the Arizona Geological Society, held its 29th field conference in Cochise County, November 9-11, 1978. Road logs and technical papers on various aspects of the geologic framework and associated mineral resources are included in the guidebook, which was published by and can be purchased from the New Mexico Geological Society, Inc. A geologic map (scale 1:125,000) of most of Cochise County and adjoining Pima County, prepared by Harald Drewes, was published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1980. Robert B. Scarborough and Michel L. Coney prepared an index of published geologic maps of Arizona, which was printed by the Arizona Bureau of Geology and Mineral Technology in 1982.
