dc.description.note	Originally published as Arizona Geological Survey Contributed Map CM-94-E, black & white maps, in 1994. In the mid-1980s, Dr. Troy L. Péwé and graduate students of Arizona State University's Geosciences Department constructed a suite of environmental geology maps for the Phoenix, Arizona area. Their chief goal was to inform city planners, decision makers, and the community of the potential impacts of geology on the population of this rapidly urbanizing area. Maps of the Péwé collection were provided to the Arizona Geological Survey in August 2012 by Dr. Ed Stump, Arizona State University's School of Earth and Space Exploration, for digitizing and publishing the maps online at AZGS's Document Repository. The physical condition of maps of the Péwé collection varies from poor to good and that is reflected in the quality of the electronic map product.
