    Description
This report presents the results of a reconnaissance analysis of Quaternary faulting in central Arizona, conducted for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation. The goal of this study has been to thoroughly delineate locations of possible Quaternary faulting in the area surrounding existing and potential dam sites in central Arizona. Analysis consisted of three phases: 1) systematic interpretation of color-infrared aerial photographs of central Arizona to locate possible Quaternary faults; 2) helicopter overflight of targets defined in part 1; and 3) brief field reconnaissance studies at sites of possible displacement of Quaternary deposits. As a result of these studies, features delineated in part 1 were classified as unlikely, possible, or probable Quaternary faults. Features considered most likely to warrant further investigation are discussed individually in this report, with recommendations for further study. (75 pages)
