| dc.description | Separate maps show the ranges of values for each parameter. Polygons enclose areas where parameter values are within a range specified by the DRASTIC system, and a numerical rating is assigned to each polygon. The numerical rating represents degree of susceptibility to groundwater pollution. For example, aquifer vulnerability is presumed to be directly proportional to aquifer recharge rate, so a region with a high recharge rate is assigned a higher value on the recharge map than a region with a low rate. | |
