The optical engineering exploration in making the capable of diffractive multifocal Intraocular lens (MIOL) will be be presented in the dissertation. The Diffractive multifocal IOL is a surgical implanted medical devices that have potential to provide the recovery of full range functional vision for cataract patients. The developed design principle, fabrication technique, and performance verification method associated with the diffractive MIOLs will be reported and discussed in this presentation. Two examples will be provided as a demonstration for the capability in the creation of diffractive MIOLsType
