Interim Report 1Abstract
Research concerning a desalting system which utilizes solar energy and separate components for evaporation and condensation has been conducted by The University of Arizona for the Office of Saline Water during the period from April 28 to October 28, 1962. While cost optimization has not been completed, equations have been developed for solar collector performance and specific productivity. Items of equipment, such as heat exchangers, packed towers, spray chambers, etc., have also received careful investigation. A model plant has been constructed and is presently being operated. IType
