Effect of Stage of Maturity, Method of Storage, and Storage Time on Nutritive Value of Sandhills Upland HayForage yield was influenced more by differences in year and date of cutting than was nutritive value as measured by metabolizable energy and nitrogen retention. Chemical analysis showed relatively little difference in nutritive value between windrowed, bunched and baled hay, whereas standing forage had lower nutritive value than any of the harvested forages.
