Guide series (University of Arizona. Center for Creative Photography), no. 7Description
“This guide is a companion to issue number 18 of the Center's research series, The Archive, which includes a biographical essay on Anderson and reproductions of twenty-three of his photographs. The Paul Anderson Collection at the Center numbers 436 prints, the majority of which were donated by his daughter, Mrs. Raymond C. Collins. It is a particularly valuable collection for photographic historians because it includes so many excellent examples of popular pictorialist processes -13 processes in all. In many instances, the Center holds images that have been printed by Anderson several times in several different processes, providing unequalled opportunities for direct comparisons. Because of the growing interest in these processes and in Anderson's own photographs and ideas, an extensive bibliography is included in this guide. Many of the books and articles referred to are also part of the Paul Anderson Collection.” (From the introduction to the Guide series, no. 7.)Type
