There is a disparity within the Asian community with regards to overcoming the mental health stigma. To understand how we can overcome this health obstacle within the Phoenix Asian American community the question lies: does an educational intervention increase mental health literacy in the Asian American community in Arizona? A cross-sectional study of Asian Americans in the city of Phoenix, AZ was done using subject from the Greater Phoenix Chinese Christian Church and Vietnamese Chinese Association of Arizona between September 14th, 2019 and Dec 21st, 2019. From the study, mental health literacy had significant improvement post intervention using an educational model in the form of understand depression treatments, seeking help, and being more open to mental health discussion with family members.Type
