dc.description.abstractThe effect of salivary contamination on composition of esophageal ejecta samples can be calculated easily. Such calculations indicate contamination has little effect on the concentration of any organic constituent. Rinsing ejecta samples in distilled water should be discontinued because it reduces crude protein concentration and in vitro dry matter digestibility and increases acid detergent fiber and lignin concentration.
