The influence of water stress on growth of four grasses was investigated. Panicum coloratum and Chloris gayana, the two C4 species, were more adversely affected, while the two C3 species (Poa pratensis and Lolium perenne) were found to tolerate the water stress conditions better as reflected by a comparatively smaller decline in their biomass.Type
