Stem cuttings of 54 Nevada shrub species varied in rooting capacity. Among those species most easily propagated were Artemisia spinescens, Atriplex lentiformis, Ceratoides lanatu, Grayia spinosa, Lepidospartum latisquamum, Prunus andersonii, Rosa woodsii, Salvia dorrii, and Vitis arizonica. Semihardwood cuttings were superior to either softwood or hardwood cuttings in rooting success. Differences in rooting potential among cuttings of the same species taken from different sites were also apparent.Type
