A crucible for filtering plant material is made by modifying an aluminum 35-mm film canister to hold the filter, composed of glass wool fiber and nylon curtain mesh. Cleaning and preparation of the conister for a new test is simplified by disposing of the used filter and inserting a new one. Comparison with sintered glass crucibles showed no significant differences in in vitro digestible dry matter values.Type
