AbstractSpraying big sagebrush with 2,4-D in Wyoming reduced soil moisture loss 24% between June 24, the treatment date, and September 30. All of the reduction accrued by August 4, during the time of active vegetative growth. Moisture was measured to a 6-ft depth and 83% of the reduction was located in soil 2 to 6 ft deep.
