The effects of various mechanical and manuring treatments on dense clubmoss were investigated on an ungrazed mixed prairie site in northern Montana 30 years after a ten-year sequence of treatments. The least clubmoss ground cover occurred on range which had received the most intensive mechanical treatments. Manure treatments also reduced clubmoss cover but the effect of manuring intensity was not distinct. Herbage yield was highest at the lowest levels of clubmoss cover.Type
