Range management's goal of increased profits from livestock production should be viewed within a broader context in which the professions dealing with natural resources try to bring about the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Range forage production from public lands can be maintained or increased under a well rounded resource conservation program despite land use restrictions for outdoor recreation.Type
