This lecture-recital document will investigate common compositional processes found in electroacoustic drumset repertoire. These processes include fixed media, audio files, live processing, triggering, and looping. With the use of Ableton Live, I will demonstrate the performer’s capability to reconcile these electronic processes with live performance as well as to show prospective learning applications. This will be demonstrated through the performance and analysis of four electroacoustic works written for the drumset. The four works presented and their distinct compositional electronic processes are Train Set (Fixed Media) by Eliot Britton, Woven (Triggering) by Greg Harrison, METAMORPHOSIS (Live Looping, Processing, and Triggering) by Federico Behnke and, Baba Yaga (Live Processing, Fixed-media, and Triggering) by Jacob Ransom.Type
