dc.description.abstractThrough the occurrence of the complementizer and the grammaticality of non-wh-sluicing, the current study seeks to establish that the source of the sluice in Hindi-Urdu is exceptional Focus movement. This is unlike English which employs wh-movement to Spec CP followed by TP elision.en_US
