Profit Prediction based on Financial Statements using Deep Neural Network

Abstract

Machine Learning techniques are being used in several industries to improve predictive models. The objective of this paper is to predict whether a company will be profitable next year by using the financial statements of the previous year. Five machine learning techniques were used including deep neural networks. Fifteen financial variables were selected as the features. The deep neural network technique performed better than the other models according to the Fl scores.
