A dynamic multipath channel model is developed for the IRIG-106 Telemetry Standard to model the time-varying characteristics typical of air-to-ground microwave channels. The model is derived using theoretical considerations first presented by Bello [1] and later confirmed by Rice et al [2]. This model is extended to account for the dynamics of a non-stationary airborne transmitter. A coordinate system is defined from which time-varying multipath parameters are derived. These parameters are then incorporated to create a linear time-variant impulse response of the dynamic multipath channel model for aeronautical mobile telemetry.Type
