This thesis work is a conclusion to my studies in sustainability with my Honors discussion connected to the New Venture Development Program. In this discussion, I have had the opportunity to learn about sustainability in business alongside my classmates, while we all built out our venture concepts with our other teammates in the program. I, alongside my teammates Nick Watson, Kyle Toci, and John Frick, built an app concept called Base that seeks to bring together sports fans through lively conversations. The attached business plan reflects their efforts in addition to mine. Through my discussion section, I had the opportunity to lead a class around a subject related to sustainability. I chose to present on sustainable investing, and this particularly interests me because I am going on to work as a financial advisor upon graduation for Merrill Lynch. In doing research for this, I learned a great deal about sustainable investing strategies, and I decided to write my thesis on the subject. Overall, the Honors Entrepreneurship served as an effective supplement to my learning in the New Venture Development. My thesis is a reflection of my research this semester on sustainability, as well as everything I’ve learned from my peers and mentors in the New Venture Development program.Type
