The Skating Through It Podcast is a four-episode podcast series that explores how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the sport of hockey. To find out what changed in response to the pandemic, I speak with coaches, players, and other people from inside the game to uncover how the sport changed from the professional level down to the youth level. From game cancellations to health and safety guidelines, this podcast examines how the structural aspects of hockey were affected in addition to how individuals were affected physically and emotionally through the experiences of those most affected by the pandemic. In addition to speaking with guests each episode about what happened during the early stages of the pandemic, I seek to cover and examine the ongoing situations occurring in the National Hockey League and other professional leagues around the world as the situation continues to change into 2021 and beyond. This podcast aims to serve as a historical piece that captures the importance of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sporting world in terms of both looking back and looking forward.Type
