    Abstract
Specific Aims: To assess pharmacy technicians’ perceptions of a medication reconciliation protocol enhancement in a medication therapy management setting. Methods: This retrospective study involved pharmacy technicians to identify perceptions regarding an enhanced medication reconciliation protocol. Data was collected in February 2020 from pharmacy technicians who completed an online questionnaire asking about their demographic characteristics (age, gender, pharmacy practice setting, and years of experience as a pharmacy technician) and their perception of the enhanced protocol (Did you find the new medication reconciliation process to be beneficial to you as a pharmacy technician? Did you find the new medication reconciliation process to be beneficial to the patient?) Response options for the perception assessments included strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. Main Results: Responses from 30 pharmacy technicians were included in the analysis. The population was predominantly female (80%) with an age of 20 –30 years (53.3%). A majority of participants reported that the enhanced protocol was valuable to themselves as a pharmacy technician (66.6%) and the patient (80%). There was no difference in the perceived value of the protocol between gender, age, or years of experience (p > 0.05). Conclusions: This study demonstrates that the enhanced medication reconciliation protocol is perceived by pharmacy technicians as beneficial both for themselves and for patients.
