Overall, Quail Crossing Boulevard Future Widening Project Design Concept Report is a compilation of 8 disciplines within civil engineering performing tasks to complete the design of a roadway expansion. A lead in project management, roadway, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, structures, environmental, and construction was put together to create this design report. Quail Crossing Boulevard is an existing road in the town of Sahuarita, AZ. It currently has 2 lanes and a multi-use path with a connection to the Llano Grande Trailhead. The road is exceptionally challenging since it is fully encompassed within the FEMA 100-year design flood and has an expectation to reach the Envision Gold Standard. Our report is a projection of the design when the road will be expanded to 4 lanes and the potential improvements that will occur. Through this project, skills such as team dynamics, completing certifications, software, and critical thinking were expanded on. Overall, the Quail Crossing Boulevard Future Widening Project Design Concept Report is a project that provides a glimpse into the real life of being a civil engineer. Last semester, a Statement of Qualifications was prepared to “bid for” the Quail Crossing Boulevard Widening Design. Then, the Design Report documents the progress. Both submittals are extremely common in the civil engineering world.Type
