The price of agricultural land plays a large role in a farmers’ financial position. This thesis quantifies the effects of commodity prices on farmland prices while controlling for interest rates, land cover, and distance to urban center and county fixed effects. We use transactional data of all recorded farmland sales from six rural counties in Wisconsin for the years 2003-2022. This study reveals that the price of milk has a significant effect on the price of farmland in the sample counties in Wisconsin.Type
