This literature review aims to outline the history of amphetamines. It starts with the initial discovery of amphetamines as a potential treatment for asthma and summarizes its evolution into the primary treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The paper will then go on to discuss the structure of amphetamine and methamphetamine, as well as similarities and differences in their effects. That will lead into a discussion of the negative impacts of amphetamine and methamphetamine, and then into a discussion of their use as an intervention. The paper will end with a discussion about the future of amphetamines as interventions, research subject, and social phenomena.Type
