In response to the increase in prevalence of social media, this research aims to utilize education to better equip youth to become informed, knowledge consumers. It identifies a lack of up-to-date educational materials and curriculum standards concerning social media marketing, and aims to address it through educational programming. It develops a lesson plan for 7-10th grade students based on three learning objectives that concern topics such as targeted advertising, data collection, and advertising tactics. The workshop was delivered to a total of over 75 students, and the results show a significant impact on knowledge and skills related to learning objectives.Type
