The Healthy Heroes 365 wellness competition was implemented at the Pima County Health Department with the goal of improving wellness across employees of the department, and creating a culture of health through a fun and interactive competition. Players competed individually and in teams to earn points based on predetermined wellness activities they completed during the competition timeline. Employees of the health department were surveyed before and after the introduction of this program about their opinions of wellness within the Pima County Health Department. This was done in order to determine whether the introduction of the new wellness program had an impact on employees' perception of wellness in the workplace. After the introduction of the Healthy Heroes 365 competition, employees indicated that they felt more targeted wellness initiatives existed, there were more opportunities in general to practice wellness at work, and they were more satisfied with the programming offered to them to practice wellness.Type
